workHow do we handle work stress and disconnect with only an hour or less per day?

As employees we spend 1,920 hours of our lives at work per year. If we sleep 7 hours per night, use 1 hour every morning and afternoon to get to and from work, and if we take 1 hour for each meal; we only have four hours for everything else. How do we handle the stress and disconnect from work with 4 hours of chores and personal activities?

Let's say cooking takes an hour per meal and the dishes and a quick clean takes another hour, we then only have two hours to relax. If we have children then our sleeping time is reduced to an average of 6 hours, personal hygiene is reduced to 30 minutes total, and house chores increase creating more personal levels of stress.

If we had a second job, then our weekly ours for all other activities will be reduced even further. We actually spend more time at work and for work than we do at home. We see our co-workers for longer periods of time than our own family. Depending on the type of job and environment, the levels of stress can vary and a person can accumulate more stress than it is able to release. The accumulation happens when there is no time to understand the situation and depending on the personality type, some may take longer than others.

There are two types of stress at work, the healthy stress that allows us to promote creativity, and the unhealthy stress that limits our ability to effectively perform our duties.
